Salesforce and Business System Integrations

An integration must do more than move a record once. Royal Computer Consulting plans how systems exchange data, resolve conflicts, handle failures, and remain understandable to the people who operate them.

Name the system of record

Start by deciding which system owns each field and which events should trigger an update. Document identifiers, mappings, update timing, and conflict rules. A customer record, an order, and a service case may each have different ownership and synchronization requirements.

Choose the right exchange pattern

Real-time requests, scheduled synchronization, event-driven updates, and batch imports solve different problems. The choice depends on business latency, API limits, volume, existing tools, and provider capabilities. Authentication, token lifecycle, and permissions are part of the architecture.

Make failures recoverable

Define retries, duplicate prevention, timeouts, partial failures, and reconciliation. Operators need to distinguish a rejected record from a delayed update and understand how to recover safely. Error messages and logs should carry enough context to diagnose the problem without exposing unnecessary sensitive data.

Validate the full lifecycle

Test creation, updates, deletions where supported, duplicate requests, expired credentials, and unavailable providers. The handoff should include configuration ownership, troubleshooting steps, monitoring responsibilities, and how mappings or provider changes are reviewed.

What the engagement can deliver

  • System ownership and field mappings
  • API and authentication design
  • Synchronization and conflict rules
  • Retry and reconciliation approach
  • End-to-end acceptance scenarios
  • Support and operating runbook

Deliverables are selected to match the agreed scope. The general rate is $85 USD per hour, corp-to-corp; availability and engagement terms are confirmed in writing.

Common project questions

Can you connect Salesforce with a custom application?

The connection depends on the interfaces and access available in both systems. Discovery identifies the API capabilities, data ownership, and workflow before implementation is quoted.

Do integrations have to run in real time?

No. Some workflows require an immediate response; others work better with scheduled or batch processing. The business requirement determines the pattern.

Bring the workflow and the constraints.

Describe your current systems, the task you need to improve, the people who use it, and the timing or access constraints. Those details help define a useful first conversation.
